The first mansion that billionaire Donald Trump bought in 1982 is now being listed for US$54 million (S$74 million).
Trump, who was married to Ivana Trump at the time, paid US$4 million for the sprawling property, Business Insider reported.
According to The Dailymail, the Connecticut estate has eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a putting green, movie theatre, tennis courts and three staff apartments.
Trump bought the mansion when he was 35 and still married to Ivana. In the same year, Ivana was appointed by Trump to oversee the refurbishment of Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. Inspired by her project, she went on to recreate the same gold leaf decor in their mansion, a report on SteamFeed said.
When the Trumps finalised their divorce in 1991 after 15 years of marriage, Ivana received the mansion in the property settlement, and sold it for US$15 million seven years later.
The new owners reportedly renovated the estate in 2000 to tone down the luxurious decor, and added tennis courts as well as a 4,000 square-foot extension to include guest suites, a lap pool and a sauna.
A huge dock on the property gives its occupants a scenic view of the waters around Long Island Sound, a tidal estuary of the Atlantic Ocean.
