Filipino star boxer Manny Pacquiao has just bought rapper Sean Combs' former Beverly Hills mansion for a cool US$12.5 million (S$17 million). .
Combs, who is more famously known as P. Diddy, used to own the Los Angeles home but sold the 10,000-sq ft estate in 2001.
According to Philippine Entertainment Portal, Manny Pacquiao bought the mansion as a surprise for his family. Pacquiao told Startalk in an interview: "I'm pretty sure that my wife will love it."
With its grand two-story entrance, wide cobblestone driveways, a swimming pool with a fountain and spa, and several fire pits and patios, the luxurious home should definitely be more than enough to please his wife.
The mansion also comes with seven bedrooms, eight baths and a US$200,000 home theatre, perfect for his large family of seven.
TMZ Sports reported that Pacquiao snapped up the house complete with its furnishings, art and appliances as he wanted his family to settle down quickly in Los Angeles before his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2.
The sellers also agreed to stock the bar for the Pacquiao family as part of the deal.
Besides the Beverly Hills estate, Pacquaio also owns another Los Angeles house in Hancock Park which was listed for US$2.7 million.
The boxer also owns two properties in the Philippines - a mansion in Makati which he is planning to sell, and a European style house in General Santos, his hometown.
Pacquiao and his wife are reportedly keen on buying another house in the Laguna area, near the international school that their sons, Emmanual and Michael are attending, Philippine Entertainment Portal said.
