Consumer prices fell for a sixth straight month in April, official data released on May 25 showed. Singapore's all-items consumer price index eased 0.5 per cent last month, compared with April last year.
This was higher than the 0.3 per cent decline in March, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a joint statement.
The main factor is the cost of oil-related items, which fell by 11.7 per cent last month, following a 7.9 per cent drop in March. Electricity tariffs were reduced further as global oil prices fell.
