SINGAPORE - Chairman of Tiger Airways Holdings Mr JY Pillay, 80,will be retiring at the company's Annual General Meeting on July 31. He will be succeeded by Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, who also acts as Chairman of UOB.
Mr Hsieh has been an Independent Director on the Company's Board since appointment in November 2011.
Tiger Airways said in a statement on Friday that under Mr Pillay's leadership, the Group divested or shut down its lossmaking overseas ventures and shifted it focus to its core operation in Singapore.
Mr Hsieh said: "Mr Pillay has been instrumental in strengthening the governance and accountability in this young airline. He provided exemplary leadership in stabilising and steering the Group amidst challenging market conditions."
